The Wonderful World of 1911s

I have to apologize for my lack of postings! I haven’t shot much this winter because this 80-year-old boy doesn’t like shooting in cold weather. If you are thinking about buying your first or adding to your collection of 1911s, I would like to share my experiences with this great handgun. The 1911 has always been my favorite pistol! I was an M.P. in the Army and this was my duty weapon. I own several 1911s, some expensive and some inexpensive. I have posted a video by Hickok45 on choosing an inexpensive or expensive 1911. I found the video very informative and entertaining. I want to add one thought that wasn’t mentioned in his video, the midrange purchase. My most expensive 1911 is a Wilson Combat that I purchased several years ago for about $2,500.00 and I purchased a Remington 1911 several years ago for around $500.00. I sent the Remington To Wilson Combat for some custom work including trigger, grips, sights, and a  few other options. the bill was about $800.00. I cannot tell any difference between the two pistols and you can save a lot of money by buying a nice inexpensive 1911 and have some custom work to have a great 1911.
