The Stoeger Cougar is a nice semi-auto pistol that has a fifteen round magazine, nice finish, accurate, mild recoil, and priced Around $375.00 to $400.00. The Stoeger Cougar is actually a Beretta Cougar. Stoeger was purchased by Benelli USA.Benelli is owned by Beretta. Beretta replaced the Cougar with a PX4 Storm, and sent the tooling for the Cougar to the Stoeger factory in Turkey. The Beretta PX4 is a bit lighter than the Cougar, and has a slight advantage with a better trigger. I am just as accurate with the Stoeger as I am with the PX4. Either pistol would be an excellent home protection weapon, but kind of big for concealed carry. Usually the PX4 is about $200.00 more expensive than the Stoeger, but Beretta has a $75.00 rebate this month on the PX4. If you are buying a pistol just for home protection, the Stoeger Cougar would be my choice. If you are buying for home protection and range time, I would buy the Beretta. The $75.00 rebate is a game changer. I posted a couple of You Tube videos about the Cougar.
