Last week I decided to clean and shoot my Hi- Standard Supermatic Trophy 22LR. I purchased this pistol in 1977 and I don’t think it has been fired in thirty five years. This pistol is still an excellent target pistol with a little over one pound trigger pull. Today was sunny and warm, so I thought it would be a nice day to compare the old Hi-Standard to the new S & W Victory, and the Ruger MarkIV Hunter. The three pistols have a lot in common including great balance, fit and finish, easy to clean, and accuracy. I started shooting at thirty yards and did not shoot well. I should have adjusted the sights before I did a comparison and it was a little windy. I made some sight adjustments and moved to thirty feet. I posted the targets and the first photo was at thirty yards with S & W on the right, Ruger on the left, and Hi-Standard Center. The Second target photo was at thirty feet. I will have to revisit this post after I get the sights adjusted properly. I like all three and, if you were going to buy one target 22LR pistol, The Victory or the Mark IV are both great pistols. The Hi-Standard has been out of production since 1984. I posted You Tube Videos the three pistols.
