This is my second comparison test for my striker fired 9MM pistols. The SR9 and the 34 are excellent pistols and my rating pertains to my experience with them and most of the real experts will not agree with me on the Glock 34.
Reliability: No problems with either pistol. I know that you can bury a Glock in mud and it will still fire. I don’t think anyone buying a pistol will bury it in mud.
SR9 (10) 34 (10)
Trigger: Good but, not great!
SR9 (8.4) 34(8.3)
Grip: Both grips are good. I think the Glock is better. The SR9 is too smooth compared to the 34.
SR9 (8.6) 34(9.3)
Finish: Close call!
SR9 (9.3) 34(9.1)
Price: Advantage Ruger SR9! SR9-$499.00, Glock 34-$699.00! The Clock is not two Hundred dollars better than the Ruger.
SR9 (8.7) 34(8.1)
Sights: Good sights, and the rear sights are adjustable. I am not adjusting any sights for the 9MM comparison, because I don’t think the average person buying a pistol for home protections will want to make adjustments.
SR9 (8.5) 34(9.2)
Accuracy: Same Criteria as the previous review. A second or two for sighting the target, and then rapid fire from thirty feet. I posted the target. The first was 34 rounds rapid fire with the SR9, and the second was 34 rounds rapid fire with the 34. The Clock tendency was to shoot high, but that would be a quick fix by adjusting rear sight. I am deducting .1 from the SR9 because the last round in both magazines ejected and hit my forehead. I am deducting .3 from the Glock for the same reason except it was the third round in the first magazine and the sixth round in the second one. It is very distracting when you are shooting rapid fire.
SR9(8.5) 34(7.9)
Total Scores:
SR9 (62.0) 34(62.9)
Comparison standings to date:
HK VP9 (65.9)
Walther PPQ 64.1 After September 15th, before (64.6)

I posted You Tube videos on the Ruger SR9 and the Glock 34. The first target posted is the SR9 and the second is the 34.
