I want to revisit my review on the Ruger American. This 9MM pistol is one of the great buys in today’s competitive market. If you do some shopping, a good purchase price is $530.00. I recently was shooting from ten yards and after shooting two hundred rounds, I think this pistol is one of the best 9MMs on the market.
Sturm, Ruger, & Company is the number one Manufacturer of guns our Country, and there is good reason for being number one. They manufacture a wide variety of reasonable priced, reliable, and quality guns that are good, very good, and excellent. In my opinion, the Ruger American falls in between good, and very good in an extremely competitive market. I fired three magazines (fifty-one rounds) through the American, and it is accurate, minimum recoil, and feels good while shooting. The negatives are-the trigger is okay, not great, the sights are okay, and the grips have a lot of negative reviews about hurting the knuckle on your thumb. I did not have that problem. If I was buying one pistol in a 9MM caliber for home protection, or target shooting, it would be 10th on my list. This is strictly my opinion, and I believe this Ruger could be a number one choice for several individuals. I posted a Hickok45 video from You Tube that is informative and entertaining, and a video of the history of the Thompson sub-machine gun. If you have an interest in history, you will really enjoy this video.
