Home Defense Options

Home defense options are whatever you are comfortable with and if children still live at home or visit. I know people who have AR15s, 12 gauge shotguns, and various handguns. I have a nightstand with a safe and until yesterday, my home defense pistol was a Glock 26. The 26 is a very small 9MM with a 15 round magazine and a ten round magazine. My Glock was ready to shoot with the 15 round magazine and 1 in the chamber, and the spare ten round magazine in the safe. I felt very comfortable with 26 rounds available and until yesterday I did not consider any change. Yesterday was a great day to shoot. The temperature in the 50s and very little wind. I have six 1911s and decided to target shoot all of them. My new home defense pistol is my Kimber 1911 Crimson Trace Pro Carry 2. The reason for the change is accuracy at 30 feet. It was a sunny day yesterday, but the green laser was unbelievable. I used two hands, one hand, and shooting from the hip destroying the bullseye. I also believe in a defensive situation that if a thug sees a laser on his chest that he will have a change of heart and surrender instead of leaving my home in a body bag.
