I own several rifles with scopes that are more than adequate for me! I am not an expert marksman, but with the right scope, I can hit various sizes of steel at my 200-yard range. There are so many excellent scopes on the market it is very difficult to choose the right one. If I was a hunter, a 1x6x24 Primary Arms or a 3x9x40 Hawke would do an excellent job up too 300-yards and you are in the $150.00 to $300.00 price range. Target shooting for me at 200 hundred yards makes it easy to choose for quality and affordability. Most of my scopes are Leupold VX2s! Great optics, made in America and, depending on the power, $250.00- $350.00( 3x9x40 or 4x12x40) I also have some Hawke scopes, not the same quality as Leupold, but they are priced about $125.00 less. For the long-range shooters, 600 to 1,000 yards, go to YouTube and watch some video reviews. Some shooters will pay $2,500.00 to $3,000.00 for a scope if they are really into the long-range shooting. If you are buying your first scope, check out your local gun shop. Your average gun shop will stock a few different brands of scopes and will really help you make an excellent choice. I posted a few YouTube videos that are very informative.
