I celebrated my 78th birthday in January by giving myself a present. I purchased a Barrett piston operated AR15, the Rec7 DMR( designated marksman rifle). I own three other AR’S and this will definitely be my last AR15 purchase. The Barrett is a high-end quality rifle that is extremely accurate and reliable. I wanted to try a different scope, so I decided on the Hawke 4X16X50 and this a terrific scope. I zeroed the scope by using a shortcut that I watched a YOUTube video. This is the second time that I used the 25 yard shortcut. Dead center at 25 yards, allow for 1 1/2 inch rise at 200 yards by 24 clicks down on the elevation knob and it is right on the money. This saves a lot of steps instead of zeroing at 100 yards. All the AR15s are really great rifles whether they cost $600.00 or $3,000.00. I posted two videos on YouTube on the Barrett. I am reposting this review because this is definitely one of the rifles that I hope will stay in the family. The original posting was February 7th, 2017.
